  • Tier 1 + Prime subs (100 × $4.99)$499.00
  • Tier 2 subs (5 × $9.99)$49.95
  • Tier 3 subs (2 × $24.99)$49.98

Notes

  • Bits pay the streamer $0.01 per bit. Viewers pay roughly $1.40 per 100 bits, but the difference is the platform's cut — it does not affect your share.
  • Direct tips through PayPal, Streamlabs or Streamelements bypass Twitch's split entirely. Subtract payment processor fees (~3% PayPal, similar for cards) to estimate your true tip income.
  • This is an estimate. Twitch payouts have a $50 minimum, are paid 15 days after the end of each month, and may be subject to currency conversion fees outside the US. Always consult a tax professional for actual tax planning.

How To Use These Numbers

1

Enter your monthly volume

Pull sub counts from your Twitch dashboard's Insights tab. Use last month's numbers — they're more accurate than estimates.

2

Pick your split

Most streamers are on standard 50/50. Plus Program 60/40 is invitation-based for high-performing Partners. Legacy 70/30 only applies to old grandfathered contracts.

3

Plan with the after-tax number

The after-tax line is what you can actually budget with. Always set aside the tax portion when payouts hit so you're not scrambling at year-end.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Twitch streamer earn per sub?
On the standard 50/50 split, a Tier 1 sub ($4.99) earns the streamer $2.50, Tier 2 ($9.99) earns $5.00 and Tier 3 ($24.99) earns $12.50. On the Plus Program 60/40 split (invite-only for eligible Partners) those numbers rise to $3.00, $5.99 and $14.99 respectively, up to $100,000 in annual sub revenue.
How much is 1,000 bits worth on Twitch?
1,000 bits pays the streamer $10. The bit rate is fixed at $0.01 per bit regardless of revenue split or partner status. Viewers pay slightly more (around $14 for 1,000 bits) — the difference is Twitch's cut and does not affect what the streamer receives.
Do gifted subs pay the streamer the same as normal subs?
Yes. The streamer earns the same revenue from a gifted sub as from a self-purchased sub of the same tier. Gifters pay normal price; recipients receive a sub badge for the gift duration. Mass-gift sub bombs are a major revenue event for many streamers.
What is the Twitch Plus Program?
Plus Program is Twitch's 2023+ revenue-share offer for eligible Partners. It pays 60% of subscription revenue (vs 50% standard) on the first $100,000 of annual sub income. Above that threshold the rate drops back to 50%. Eligibility is invitation-only and based on hours streamed, average viewers and exclusivity terms.
Are tips through PayPal subject to the Twitch split?
No. Direct tips paid via PayPal, Streamlabs, Streamelements or any third-party tipping service bypass Twitch entirely — the streamer keeps 100% minus payment processor fees (typically 3% for PayPal, similar for cards). Twitch only takes a cut on subs, bits and on-platform ads.
When does Twitch pay out?
Twitch pays 15 days after the end of each calendar month, provided you've reached the $50 minimum payout threshold. Payouts use Tipalti and support PayPal, ACH, wire and check depending on region. Below the threshold, your earnings roll over to the next month.
Is this calculator tax advice?
No. This is an estimate of your gross and net Twitch revenue, not tax advice. Streamer income is typically self-employment income in the US (Schedule C / 1099) and similar elsewhere. Talk to a tax professional about deductions, quarterly estimated taxes, and state/regional rules — none of which this tool models.
