Custom Chat Commands for Twitch, Kick & YouTube

Create custom !commands once and let StreamUps answer them in every connected chat — Twitch, YouTube Live and Kick — at the same time.

Fixed answers from !commands. Everything else from the AI chat companion. One bot, both jobs.

A chat command bot is the quiet workhorse of every good stream. Someone types !discord and the invite link appears instantly. A new viewer asks about your schedule, a regular replies "!schedule", and the bot answers before you even see the question. Multiply that across a three-hour stream and commands save you dozens of interruptions a night.

Most command bots were built for one platform. StreamUps was built for streamers who broadcast everywhere: your custom commands for Twitch also fire on Kick and YouTube Live, so every community gets the same answer no matter where they're watching. And because it runs in the cloud, there's nothing to host, install or keep open on your PC.

Why Streamers Use Custom Commands

Answer Repeat Questions Instantly

"What's your Discord?" "When do you stream?" "What are your PC specs?" — the same questions arrive every single stream. A command answers them in under a second, every time, without breaking your flow mid-game.

Promote Socials & Discord Hands-Free

Set up !discord, !socials and !youtube once and your community links are always one keystroke away. Regulars will drop them for new viewers before you can, which grows your off-stream community on autopilot.

Reward Regulars With Fun Commands

Commands like !lurk, !quote and !hug give your community little rituals to rally around. They cost nothing to run and they're often the first thing new viewers copy — instant participation with zero barrier.

Keep Multi-Platform Chats Consistent

If you stream to Twitch, YouTube and Kick at once, three communities are asking the same questions. StreamUps runs the same command list on every platform, so nobody gets a worse answer for watching in the "wrong" place.

How It Works

1

Connect Your Channels

Link Twitch, YouTube and Kick to StreamUps. One connection covers commands, merged chat and multistreaming.

2

Create a Command

Pick a trigger like !discord, write the response, and set an optional cooldown and user level.

3

Bot Joins Your Chat

The StreamUps bot listens in every connected chat — cloud-hosted, so nothing runs on your PC.

4

Replies Everywhere

When a viewer types the trigger on any platform, the bot answers in that chat instantly.

Each command supports a cooldown (so chat can't spam it) and a user level (everyone, subscribers, moderators, or just you), and replies go out on every platform you've connected.

Commands + AI: Better Together

Classic bots like Nightbot and StreamElements stop at trigger-and-response: an exact !command in, a pre-written line out. That's perfect for fixed information — your Discord link doesn't change mid-stream — but it can't help when a viewer asks something you never wrote a command for.

StreamUps pairs custom commands with a conversational layer. Use !commands for the answers that never change, and let the AI chat bot pick up the questions in between — game details, running jokes, or just keeping chat moving during a quiet moment. Together they act as a full stream engagement bot: predictable where you want predictability, natural everywhere else.

Because both run in the same cloud service, there's no juggling two bots with two dashboards and two sets of permissions. Connect your channels once and both layers work across Twitch, YouTube and Kick — including while you multistream to all of them simultaneously.

Chat Commands FAQ

Do StreamUps chat commands work on Kick?
Yes. StreamUps supports custom commands on Twitch, YouTube Live and Kick — including all three at once if you multistream. That's a real differentiator: Nightbot doesn't support Kick at all, so Kick streamers usually have to run a separate bot just for that platform.
Can I import my Nightbot or StreamElements commands?
There's no one-click importer yet, but recreating a command list is quick — the format is the same: trigger, response, cooldown, user level. Most streamers actively use fewer than a dozen commands, so moving over typically takes a few minutes.
Are custom chat commands free?
Yes. Custom commands are included in the StreamUps free tier alongside merged chat and multistreaming to two platforms. Paid plans add more simultaneous platforms and unlimited AI responses, but commands themselves aren't paywalled.
Do commands work while multistreaming?
Yes — that's the point. When you multistream through StreamUps, the bot watches every connected chat and answers commands natively on each platform. A viewer on Kick and a viewer on Twitch both get the reply in their own chat.
Can I set cooldowns and user levels on commands?
Yes. Every command can have a cooldown to stop chat spamming it, and a user level so you can restrict sensitive commands to subscribers, moderators or just yourself while leaving fun commands open to everyone.
What's the difference between chat commands and the AI chat bot?
Commands are exact and predictable: a fixed trigger returns a fixed response, ideal for links, schedules and rules. The AI chat bot is conversational — it reads context and responds in natural language to things you never scripted. StreamUps includes both, so you don't have to choose.
Do I need to keep software running for commands to work?
No. StreamUps is fully cloud-hosted. Once your channels are connected, commands keep working even if OBS is closed and your PC is off — useful if a mod runs a chat while you're away or a premiere is playing.
